One thing I really love about the French sample-masters, Daft Punk is their ability to mix funk and electronica together to create some “funky electronica”. No, but seriously, Daft Punk makes music that sounds like it was retrieved from a time vault of 1970 and put through a boiling process of futuristic wave-sounds And perhaps that is the case. “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” unmistakably samples Edwin Birdsong’s 70s hit “Coke Bottle Baby” plucking out the disco guitar and bass riffs and entwining them with electronic sound effects and vocal digitalization. Imagine a flashback hit in the year 2001. Groovy, man.
Check out my Songs of the Week playlist to hear a sample of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" from the 2001 Daft Punk album Discovery.

Daft Punk is definitely the best DJ duo in the world atm, no one comes close. And yeah, I agree they sound so beautifully retro :D
