In no particular order ..
1) Rasputina - Kate Moss
Rasputina is a cello-playing Goth super trio. "Kate Moss" is a bit creepy and morbid sounding, yet it's slightly humorous. A open letter of sorts addressing Kate and her image in the media.
2) Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood
Doesn't need much commentary as I don't know a person who isn't familiar with this song. Samples music from Clint Eastwood's film "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly".
3) I'm From Barcelona - Britney
The greatest thing Britney Spears has done in the past few years was inspire this song. I'm from Barcelona rocks out about the media's obsession with Crazy Ass BS. A bit tongue-in-cheek about her "awesomeness". Or at least I hope so.
4) Amy Anne - Johnny Depp
Such a cute song, albeit a bit psycho-obsessive. I like the "lounge" sound of it.
5) The Postal Service - Clark Gable
I'm not sure how I feel about the Postal Service. I give them credit for techno-emo and making it work. "Clark Gable" sounds similar to their hit "Such Great Heights".
6) Matthew Sweet - Winona
A nice ballad. Presumably named after Winona Ryder
7) Tori Amos - Not David Bowie
N/C
8) Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes
N/C
9) David Bowie - Andy Warhol
N/C
10) Teenagers - Starlett Johansson
I really like this song. So tenderly indie. Obviously named after Scarlett.
Do you guys know of any others?
