Thriller 25th Anniversary Special Edition!
Michael Jackson will re-release the legendary album, Thriller on February 18 in celebration of the albums 25 Anniversary. The album will feature remixes by Kanye West and Will.I.Am., and will also include unreleased material that did not make it on the album, some of which Michael has personally remastered himself. The album will also include a bonus DVD with videos from that time period such as Billie Jean, Beat it and Thriller.

Not long after Ghostface Killah and Raekwon complained that their Wu-Tang brother, RZA as being out-of-touch, an egomaniac and a “hip hop hippie”. RZA had some choice words to say about his group members to Rolling Stone magazine essentially claiming they are more about making money than they are about making quality music. “To get Ghostface or U-God in the studio, I’ve got to send a car for them – sometimes I have to send them money! {Dhani Harrison} and John Frusciante played for no money. I try to explain that to the hip hop people, because sometimes we all stuck on this money shit, but if you do music first, money is going to come.”
8 Diagrams, Wu Tang’s first album in six years, is due out on December 11th. The album will feature a song titled “The Heart Gently Weeps” an alteration of the Beatles’ song “My Guitar Gently Weeps”. The track will feature Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, Frusciante and George Harrison’s son Dhani along with Erykah Badu.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will play the halftime slot at the Super Bowl on Feb. 3. The annual championship game will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, near Phoenix. The show will be televised by Fox.

Amy Winehouse has canceled all her tour and publicity dates for the remainder of the year. Amy claims that her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil’s, incarceration has taken its toll on her health and that she has been prescribed by her doctor some “much needed rest”. According to US Weekly, Winehouse says, “I can’t give it my all onstage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same.”

SoundScan has announced that the High School Musical 2 soundtrack will become highest-selling album of the year, selling a total of 2.3 million copies. With that figure the record will be double honored for lowest number of copies sold by the year’s best-selling album since SoundScan started keeping track albums sold stats in 1991.
