Ten Awesome Cover Songs

Songs that are almost better than the originals ..

10) Howie Beno and Cruella Deville - She Bop (Cyndi Lauper)

Goth-ish rocked out version of the Pop original.

9) Jose Gonzalez - Teardrop (Massive Attack)

8) Iron and Wine - Such Great Heights (The Postal Service)
While the original was very sweet, Sam Beam Beam makes this song downright dreamy and romantic.

7) Brown Derbies - Karma Police (Radiohead)
The Brown Derbies covered this song Acapella. Not too many Radiohead fans care for it, I think it's awesome.

6) Genitorturers - I Touch Myself (Divinyls)
See previous review

5) Nickle Creek - Toxic (Britney Spears)
This is a fricken bluegrass band covering a fallen pop princess. It's impressive how they incorporated every instrument in the band to match spot on to the digitally-composed original.

4) Calexico - Alone Again Or (Love)

3) Revolting Cocks - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (Rod Stewart)
Industrial-Dance. A considerable strip club anthem.

2) Gus - Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)
Unknown artist, Gus created this acoustic cover and it screams "MAKE HOT, SWEET LOVE WHILE LISTENING TO ME!" This track is from the Scream soundtrack, and that's pretty much all the info I have on Gus and the song. I really believe this cover is 10x better than the original; infact I love it so much that it is actually tied for number one with ...

1) Stereophonics - Ooh La La (Goldfrapp)
This "Ooh La La" pretty much sums up musically why I love the Stereophonics. Within the first 30 seconds it is evident that these guys genuinely rock. I don't prefer this cover over the original or vice-versa, but WHOA, this version is monstrous. You go boys!
